Annual Hockey Road Trip to Niagara, NY
Posted Wednesday, November 21, 2007 9:35 AM
It is time once more for the annual Hockey Road Trip to Niagara, NY! The dates of this year’s trip will be February 7-10, 2008. Please start making your plans for travel as soon as possible. The US Department of State now requires that all American citizens possess either a passport or a combination of one's drivers license and birth certificate in order to travel to and from Canada. Without a passport or other documentation, you will be required to stay in the American portion of the city. Information on obtaining a passport may be found online at
(http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html)

Also, please be advised that the cost per student will be approximately $75.00 - $100.00 due to the increased costs of fuel and transportation. Tickets for this year’s trip will go on sale at the University Center Information Desk on January 14, 2008, at 9:00 am. Space is limited, and therefore only the first 80 students to purchase a ticket will be permitted to attend.

Due to budget shortfalls the Student Government is actively seeking donations from the Huntsville community to help off-set the cost of the trip per student. The more funds that are raised, the lower the cost per student will be. If you would like to assist with these efforts please contact the SGA at sga@email.uah.edu. Volunteering will consist of actively seeking small donations at home hockey games. Volunteers who assist with fundraising efforts will be granted priority in ticket sales.

Help support UAH Hockey and enjoy a brief vacation to Niagara Falls!

The Student Government Road Trip is a necessary part of anyone’s education at UAH!

Campus Announcement: Construction Update
Posted Saturday, July 22, 2006 4:46 PM
As you may have noticed, due to construction activity, there will be several changes in traffic patterns that will take place on the UAH campus next week. Most of these changes in traffic patterns will remain in effect for a year. Click here to view a campus map of the dates and locations of the barricades.

These changes include burying sewer lines for the Applied Sciences Building, the expansion of a second lake on the west side of the campus, and the construction of a traffic roundabout that connects Lakeside Drive with John Wright Drive. In the first phase of the traffic control plan, barricades will be placed at the “Y” intersection in front of the Administrative Science Building and to the northern drive in front of Madison Hall. This barricade will be in place on July 17. These barricades will restrict automobile traffic. However, pedestrians and bicycle traffic will be permitted. The second phase will include the placement of two barriers that will close Lakeside Drive. Traffic will not be allowed to enter the UAH campus at Lakeside Drive, and traffic will be diverted to Technology Drive. These barricades will bein place beginning July 23. During the third phase of the traffic control plan, the barricade located at the northern drive of Madison Hall will be moved a short distance to the south, but the Madison Hall parking lot will still be accessible from John Wright Drive. This third phase is effective August 1. The final phase includes closing the four-way stop intersection at Lakeside Drive and John Wright Drive. Access will be provided by workers that will control traffic through the intersection. This phase will begin on May 1, 2007.

Please take into consideration the above traffic routes when driving to and from UAH. As always, please drive safely and don't forget to watch your speed.
